Solution to CyberTeaser B211

Arrange the matches in a cube with an edge length of one match.


Addendum

Some of our contestants seemed to enjoy the challenge of sending ASCII art or digital images of their match cube (even though a verbal description sufficed). Clarissa Lee of Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia, sent us this picture:

She appended a note: “Here is how we can get 6 squares out of 12 matches. The red blobs represent the matches’ heads, while the brown lines represent the matchsticks. The yellow strings and knots are the teeny ropes used to keep the matches in a constant cube.”
